2019 Vermentino Layne Vineyard
Another year of working with one of out favorites- this Vermentino is top-grafted
onto Cabernet Sauvignon vines that were planted in 1974, at the dry and
dusty Layne Vineyard in Southern Oregon’s Applegate Valley. This year,
we foot- stomped the Vermentino and gave it a few days to soak up some
tannin and flavor for its golden-tinged skins. The grapes were pressed
and the wine fermented slowly at cool temperatures, and aged in our
concrete ‘Hippo’ tank.
